Description

Sencha green tea is a Japanese green tea made from tea leaves that are steamed, rolled, and then dried. The name “sencha” literally means “roasted tea,” although the tea leaves are not roasted. Instead, they are heated briefly to prevent oxidation and preserve the leaves’ green colour and fresh flavour.

Sencha green tea is one of the most popular types of green tea in Japan. It is enjoyed for its light, refreshing flavour and numerous health benefits. It contains a high concentration of antioxidants, including catechins and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which are believed to help protect against various chronic diseases, including heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Sencha green tea is also known for its caffeine content, which can provide a natural energy boost without the jittery side effects often associated with coffee. It is often brewed with water that is slightly cooler than boiling to bring out the delicate flavours and aromas of the tea.

Green Tea Price in bd

In Bangladesh, the price of green tea depends on the brand, level of quality, package size and where it is sold. On average, you can expect to pay this:

Local Brands: Local green tea brands usually offer more affordable options. A packet of locally produced green tea, generally 20 to 50 tea bags, is about BDT 70 to BDT 450. The demand for these products has become quite large. Local supermarkets and tiny grocery shops are the usual outlets.

Imported Brands: International green tea brands like Lipton, Tetley, and Twinings, widely available in Bangladesh, are generally more pricey. A pack of imported green tea with 25 to 50 bags will always cost you something like BDT 250-500 or even (occasionally) more, depending on how it is packaged and where you buy it from.

Loosen Leaf Green Tea: The price is generally higher for those who prefer their tea without bagging and count themselves as tea connoisseurs. Typically, a 100-gram packet of loose-leaf green tea will run BDT 500 to BDT 1,000. Sometimes, little stores for boutique-quality products or online marketplaces often specialise in all-organic goods and let customers try one blend before purchasing.
