Tea Shop BD began its journey in 2014 with a simple but meaningful purpose: to help people across Bangladesh enjoy authentic, high-quality tea without having to depend on uncertain sources.
Premium tea was often difficult for ordinary consumers to identify and access. Attractive packaging or photographs of tea gardens did not always guarantee quality. We therefore chose a different path.
At Tea Shop BD, tea is not selected from appearance or price alone. It is researched, compared and professionally evaluated through tea tasting before it is approved for our customers.
We source tea primarily through established tea auction channels and trusted tea gardens. Selected valued-added teas are also sourced from tea gardens in Panchagarh.
Shaidur Rahman
Shaidur Rahman was born on 24 May 1990 in Ulipur Upazila of Kurigram District, Bangladesh. He spent his childhood and early years surrounded by the simplicity, values and close community life of rural Bangladesh.
His professional journey later brought him to Sreemangal, widely known as the tea capital of Bangladesh. After working in the private sector, he decided to pursue his interest in tea and build a business centred on knowledge, quality and customer trust.
The beginning was challenging. Through continuous research, practical experience, tea evaluation, strategic marketing and years of dedication, he gradually built Tea Shop BD into a growing premium tea brand.
Today, he serves as Founder and CEO of Tea Shop BD and Managing Director of Indigo Brokers Limited. He has approximately 12 years of tea-industry experience and around 10 years of experience connected with tea auctions.
He received professional tea-tasting certifications in 2022 and 2023, including recognition as a tea taster and a Diploma in Tea Tasting.
Alongside tea, his professional interests extend to software, media, technology and advertising. However, Tea Shop BD remains a deeply personal mission: bringing dependable tea quality and a richer tea culture into homes throughout Bangladesh.
